Travis Jones brings a practical and analytical approach to all forms of litigation, business disputes, and appellate law. His background in construction particularly lends itself to work with construction defect cases, contract drafting and interpretation, and work-place safety. As a laborer, carpenter, and superintendent on multimillion-dollar construction projects, Mr. Jones has seen firsthand what it takes to accomplish a construction project cooperatively while adhering to all applicable laws and regulations. Mr. Jones is also OSHA 30 certified in Construction Safety and Health, which provides support in assisting contractors faced with OSHA citations and defending litigation arising from job site injuries and fatalities.
Mr. Jones grew up on the central coast of California and attended California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo where he received his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology in 2013. He then attended SMU Dedman School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor and graduated cum laude. After receiving the Dean’s Scholarship to attend SMU, Mr. Jones became a member of the Science and Technology Law Review, was on the executive committee for the Sports and Entertainment Law Association, participated in on-campus competitions, and worked as a law clerk in construction litigation.
Mr. Jones joined the firm in 2017. He is admitted to practice in all state courts in Texas as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Texas.
